  • We start piano, voice and drums at age 5 and guitar at age 8. We teach adults of all ages!

  • Your first lesson is free and there’s no registration fee! We want to make sure our teacher is a good fit before we charge you anything. We won’t ask for any billing information until we confirm you’d like to continue with lessons after the free trail.

  • We leave that decision up to our teachers. All of our teachers are able to teach note reading as well as playing by ear and chord charts but they are free to use whatever materials they feel best suit each student.

  • Yes, we have two recital weekends per year, one in May and one in December. These happen throughout the day on Saturday and on Sunday afternoon and evening. We typically have 6-8 separate recitals over the course of the weekend. You can see exact dates on our calendar page.

  • After your trial lesson please let us know via email within 3 days of your trial lesson if you'd to continue with weekly lessons (nathan@cultivatemusic.org). If you’d like to continue with weekly lessons, please log into your account and set up your billing info in the "home" tab before your next lesson. Your first paid lesson must happen the week directly after the trial lesson in the same timeslot. Once your billing info is updated in your account, we will run the payment for the remainder of the month and then each month's tuition will be automatically charged on the second of each following month. Billing info must be entered before the first paid lesson after the trial class.

  • Your trial lesson must take place on the first available lesson day following registration, but not on the same day as registration. For a list of studio closures see our studio calendar.

  • After your trial lesson, you’ll need to log into your account and add your billing info. All payments are auto-drafted on the 2nd of the month with the exception of your first payment which will come out after your trial lesson. The first payment will be prorated for the remainder of the month in which you register.

  • Tuition reserves a weekly lesson time for each student. If a student needs to miss a lesson they will need to submit a video of themselves playing the song or exercise they are working on that week to the teacher and receive feedback. The teacher will use the regularly scheduled lesson time to watch the video and send feedback and assignments for the coming week. Please contact the teacher directly to ask how they would like to receive the video.

If you would like to reschedule a missed lesson, please contact your teacher and ask if they have an opening on another day they are already teaching. Teachers are not expected to accommodate makeup lessons outside of times they are already teaching in the studio. In most cases, the video submission will be the only option.

If a student has a last minute emergency or illness, a request for a lesson credit of $22 may be made prior to the lesson time via the online credit request form. Credits will not be given for scheduling conflicts. These are only reserved for emergency. .

Since we understand that scheduling conflicts may occur and things may come up, we do allow one missed lesson per semester (fall and spring) and two in the summer that can be missed with a credit of $22. This credit will be applied to the next bill. In order to receive this credit, the studio and the teacher must be notified at least 24 hours in advance of the missed lesson.

  • If you need to permanently change your lesson time, first let your teacher know and ask if they have any other openings. If they do, great! If not, then you will need to find a time with a different teacher. To change your lesson time whether with a new teacher or the same one, log into your student portal and select "enroll." Then enroll in one of our available class times the same way you enrolled the first time. Once your new enrollment is complete, send an email to contact@cultivatemusic.org letting us know that you need to cancel your previous timeslot.

  • The easiest way to log into your account is go to our website, and select “student login” in the main menu. You can set up a username and password and access your account from there. This is where you'll access enrollment details, teacher notes, billing info and payment history.

  • If you need to permenantly withdraw from lessons, please fill out our withdrawal form and we will cancel your lessons at the end of the month.

  • You can contact your teacher via email unless the teacher provides their phone number and gives students/parents permission to contact them via call or text. The studio does not give out teacher phone numbers. You can find your teacher’s email address by replying to the welcome email you received before your trial lesson. If you cannot find the teacher’s email address, you can email contact@cultivatemusic.org and we will forward the message to the teacher.
